![]() ![]() Check regularly for new characters, both in the ledger where you can sort by age and in the characters screen where you can search for unemployed characters (you occasionally receive random characters it seems).Ģ. Through some trial and error I think I've worked out how to avoid this, thank god:ġ. Even worse, because characters become 'conscious' at age 16 but can only receive titles from age 18 they have more often than not become populists by them. There is a distinct lack of explanation in the VV expansion over how to change characters politicial affiliation. Ok, so this has been annoying me for some time in my current Rome game. I made the following post in another thread about how to deal with populist characters, it may be of some help: The main problem appears to be that there simply aren't enough characters in the game I guess this is an attempt to conserve system resources, but surely your nation could get extra characters at the expense of minor states elsewhere? Anyway, once the populists get into power it takes decades to generate enough characters to properly remove them from power, even though you can ship them out the senate in a fraction of that time. ![]() Rather oddly since I've done this I regularly have consul races between characters with under 10 votes apiece, and as you say populists still regularly win even though they have under 10 senate votes. Try assassinating or imprisoning the heads of families if they're populist - tyranny doesn't really matter too much if you're a republic and it sure beats populist consuls. The problem seems to be that once your senate goes majority populist so too do most characters, and since the consul spots go to the characters with highest family prestige it means that even once you get rid of the populists it takes 50 odd years for these characters to die off before you get rid of them. This is an incredibly annoying factor of the game. ![]()
